Runar Kjeldsberg is known for his unique programming, virtuosity and passion for historical guitars and performance practice. In 2012 he was supported by the Norwegian government art fund with a three year working grant to complete his major work on the solo works by François de Fossa (1775-1849). Recording all known solo works over three releases printed on to 5 CDs. This work has driven his passion towards early romantic guitars. Runar Kjeldsberg is an active international classical guitarist performing several concerts both as soloist and in collaboration with (amongst others) Barokksolistene, Bjarte Eike, Robert Murray, Tyrone Landau and Jacob Cordover. Runar Kjeldsberg has been awarded numerous scholarships and collected prizes in international guitar competitions, he has a performance master degree and has recieved education from some of the greatest guitar masters in Europe, such as: Carlo Marchine, Alexis Muzurakis and Gerard Abiton.
