Kern Westerberg is born in 1993 in Aarhus, Denmark. Kern is currently finishing an advanced post-graduate degree from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen with Prof. Eszter Haffner after former studies with Prof. Serguei Azizian and at Edsberg Manor, a prestigious chamber music academy in Stockholm, Sweden with Prof. Per Enoksson. He has performed in masterclasses for renowned violinists such as Leonidas Kavakos, Pinchas Zukerman, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Dora Schwarzberg, Gerhard Schulz, Rudolf Koelman and Ulf Wallin. From a very young age Kern was recognized as a promising talent, performing with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and the Danish National Chamber Orchestra at age 12. Today Kern’s focus is largely focused on chamber music, having performed countless works from Bach, Mozart and Beethoven to contemporary composers such as Reich, Larcher and Rihm. His extensive concert activity has brought him all over Europe as well as the Far East. Kern is currently working as 2nd Concertmaster in the Danish National Symphony Orchestra in the season 2020. He plays a G.Guarneri, 1732 on a generous loan from the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
